The James S. Trent Arena Presents the Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters, Cornell Gunter’s Coasters and the Platters

Trent Arena to add 1950 - 1960’s era flair to Holiday at Home festivities

Dayton, OH – The music of the 50’s and 60’s will fill the air on Sunday September 3, 2006 at the James S. Trent arena. In conjunction with the Holiday at Home festivities the Trent Arena is proud to revisit the melodies and music of this glorious era with a special concert featuring the Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters, Cornell Gunter's Coasters and the Platters. With performances of such old time favorites as "Charlie Brown," "Under the Boardwalk," "Love Potion #9" and "There Goes My Baby" it is sure to be a foot-tapping good time.

The Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters are truly unique in today's world of coming and going popular music groups. For more than 25 years they have entertained audiences the world over and their tasteful mixture of some of the Drifters million sellers along with contemporary standards is sure to please. The Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters will be performing such hits as "Some Kind of Wonderful," "Save the Last Dance for Me" and "This Magic Moment" along with their signature patented choreography.

The Cornell Gunter's Coasters are known as the supreme comedians of Rock and Roll, and their songs, parodies and tunes that became top selling records are being revived in this new generation of music. Performing much of the comedy material originally created by the late great Cornell Gunter, the Cornell Gunter Coasters will entertain you with such songs as "Smokey Joe's Café," "Zing Went the Strings," and "Baby This Is Rock & Roll." To date, their act is one of the liveliest and funniest in show business

The Platters, formed in 1953, and inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, are one of the most popular vocal groups from the 1950's. Having toured all over the world and playing venues from Madison Square Gardens to the Bottom Line, the group is still exciting audiences with their renditions of such classic hits as, "Only You," "You'll Never Know" and "It's Magic."

Come enjoy the fun at the Holiday at Home festival and then walk across the street and enjoy an entertaining trip down memory lane with some of your all time favorite songs, in the fully air-conditioned brand new James S.
